Major Abid - A hero to his last breath!Unfortunately the Pakistan Army has been the butt of Public Criticism during the last few years, but the people forget that the Pakistan Army and its valiant soldiers have always been injecting the fresh blood in the national polity by their inimitable sacrifices, be it the floods or the earthquake or the war against the enemy. Same spirit of sacrifice and valour is being exhibited in the ongoing struggle against the militants. The heroic story of Major ABID MAJEED bears testimony to this reality.
Year of Training - 2009COAS has declared year 2009 as "Year of Training", which has commenced with effect from 1 February 2009 with the aim of reinvigorating training culture in the Army. It is desired that the focus of training during the year should remain at battalion level while at the formation level we should continue as a full spectrum force for conventional tasks and Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW). Conceptual parameters have been given and year has begun...

Year of The Soldier - 2008The Chief of Army Staff had dedicated 2008 as ‘Year of the Soldier’. The objective of this plan was to improve the standard and quality of life of a soldier in tangible terms. This is a wholesome concept, which shall ensure that Army’s priorities in terms of funding reflect this new direction. Four key areas were identified viz : family accommodation, proper ration scales, well stitched uniform and education facilities.

The Pakistani Society and Culture

Islam
. Islam is practised by the majority of Pakistanis and governs their personal, political, economic and legal lives. . Among certain obligations for Muslims are to pray five times a day - at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and evening.. Friday is the Muslim holy day. Everything is closed. . During the holy month of Ramadan all Muslims must fast from dawn to dusk and are only permitted to work six hours per day. Fasting includes no eating, drinking, cigarette smoking, or gum chewing.

The Family
. The extended family is the basis of the social structure and individual identity.. It includes the nuclear family, immediate relatives, distant relatives, tribe members, friends, and neighbours. . Loyalty to the family comes before other social relationships, even business. . Nepotism is viewed positively, since it guarantees hiring people who can be trusted, which is crucial in a country where working with people one knows and trusts is of primary importance. . The family is more private than in many other cultures.. Female relatives are protected from outside influences. It is considered inappropriate to ask questions about a Pakistani's wife or other female relatives. . Families are quite large by western standards, often having up to 6 children.

Hierarchical Society
. Pakistan is a hierarchical society. . People are respected because of their age and position. . Older people are viewed as wise and are granted respect. In a social situation, they are served first and their drinks may be poured for them. Elders are introduced first, are provided with the choicest cuts of meat, and in general are treated much like royalty. . Pakistanis expect the most senior person, by age or position, to make decisions that are in the best interest of the group. . Titles are very important and denote respect. It is expected that you will use a person's title and their surname until invited to use their first name.

FUELING UP BEFORE -- THE PRE-EVENT MEAL

The purpose of eating prior to a workout or competition is to provide the body with fuel and fluid. The idea is to choose foods which will prevent hunger, provide additional carbohydrate fuel, and minimize possible intestinal complications. Generally, the meal should be consumed far enough in advance to allow for stomach emptying and intestinal absorption. A good rule of thumb is to limit the pre-event meal to about 800 calories, and give yourself one hour before the workout for each 200 calories you eat. For example, 5 pancakes, syrup, a banana, and juice would be eaten about 4 hours before a workout. A smaller 200 calorie meal such as a bowl of cereal or a bagel and juice would be eaten between 1 and 2 hours before starting. Meal timing is especially important in activities such as running, aerobic dancing, and swimming, and less critical in sports such as cycling. Athletes who have a "nervous stomach" before competition may find liquid meals such as blenderized fruit shakes with tofu or soy yogurt easier to tolerate. The pre-event meal should contain fluid and foods that are high in carbohydrates, and low in fat, protein, salt, simple sugars, and concentrated fiber. Cereal with sliced bananas and milk or juice, pancakes with fresh fruit topping, oatmeal with fruit, a baked potato topped with soy yogurt and vegetables, and tofu spread on bread with fruit are good examples. Too much protein, fiber, and fat in the pre-event meal can lead to heartburn, nausea, diarrhea, or constipation in certain individuals.

EATING TO EXERCISE AND COMPETE

Active individuals often wonder what, and even if, they should eat before a workout -- especially when hunger seems to strike just around workout time -- or when the race or tennis match begins too early to consider eating beforehand. Experienced athletes may remember eating the wrong food at the wrong time and wondering why they felt awful or performed poorly. Can the timing and choice of foods consumed close to and during a workout really make a difference in how you perform? Following a good diet with adequate amounts of energy, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, and minerals is critical for optimal performance. No one performs their best by starting a workout hungry or with low glycogen (carbohydrate) stores or after eating the wrong types of food too close to exercising. Also, failing to replace depleted carbohydrates, protein, and fluids after a workout can decrease performance in the days that follow. Because the recommendations for food and fluid intake before, during, and after exercise vary somewhat with different sports activities, this article will cover guidelines for all types and levels of vegetarian athletes.

SUPPLEMENTING -- INTAKE DURING THE EVENT

Replacing both fluid and carbohydrate during exercise is important. What and how much to replace depends on the type, duration, and intensity of the exercise. Adequate fluid intake is the single most important recommendation for all types of exercise. The general recommendation is to drink 1/2 to 1 cup of water every 10 to 20 minutes. In a hot environment, when perspiration is especially heavy, drinking up to 2 cups of water every 15 minutes may be necessary to replace fluid losses. Adequate hydration enables the active body to regulate its temperature effectively and allows for good circulation and muscle function. Carbohydrate replacement is necessary in events lasting longer than 90 minutes and may even be beneficial during high intensity exercise of shorter duration. This applies to both continuous events like cycling, running, and hiking, and sports with intermittent activity like soccer and weight training. Under these conditions, consuming carbohydrates during exercise increases both the time and the intensity the athlete is able to exercise before becoming exhausted. Researchers believe that carbohydrate feedings delay fatigue by providing additional fuel for the working muscle and preventing blood sugar from dropping.1 A carbohydrate intake of approximately 30 to 80 grams per hour2 (1 to 3 large bananas or 15 to 60 ounces of a 6 to 7% fluid replacement beverage) are recommended for delaying fatigue during prolonged strenuous exercise.

Adam Gilchrist Biography
Player profile
Full name Adam Craig GilchristBorn November 14, 1971, Bellingen, New South WalesCurrent age 35 yearsMajor teams Australia, ICC World XI, New South Wales, Western AustraliaNickname GillyPlaying role Wicketkeeper batsmanBatting style Left-hand batBowling style Right-arm offbreakFielding position WicketkeeperHeight 1.85 m
Adam Gilchrist entered the international cricketing scene as a wicket keeper/batsman with the Australian One Day International side against South Africa on 25th October 1996 in Faridabad. He was bowled by Alan Donald for 18, then effected his first dismissal by catching Hanse Cronje off Paul Reiffel for a duck. South Africa won the match by 2 wickets. In 1998, Steve Waugh elevated Adam to the pivotal position of opening batsman. In his second game, Adam scored 100 against South Africa and since then, has played a significant part in redefining the role of an opening batsman in One Day Internationals.
Adam was crucial in the team's winning performance in the 1999 and 2003 World Cups. Adam has taken a world record of over 400 dismissals in one day internationals and scored over 8600 runs at a phenomenal strike rate of almost 97 runs per 100 balls faced.
On 5th-9th November 1999, Adam replaced Ian Healy as wicketkeeper in the Australian test side in Brisbane against Pakistan. He was immediately into stride, taking his first dismissal by catching Mohammad Wasim off Damien Fleming for 18. Adam then scored 81 before being bowled by Shoaib Aktar. Since that time, Adam has taken almost 370 dismissals in test matches and scored almost 5300 runs at an incredible strike of over 82 runs per 100 balls faced. Adam reached the 100 and 200 dismissal milestones faster than any other wicket keeper in test history and he is one of only two players to had averaged greater than 60 going through 3000 test runs.
Adam is the only wicketkeeper in Australia to have captained the Australian Test and One Day teams and is acknowledged for his leadership and outstanding contribution to the Australian team in both forms of the game.
Many critics believe that Adam is the greatest wicketkeeper/batsman to have played the game. But more than his statistics, it is the manner and spirit in which Adam plays the game that makes him one of the world's most exciting and popular cricketers. He already holds the record for the most sixes hit in Test cricket (97) and plays Test cricket in much the same way as he plays One-Day Internationals.
In 2004 Adam was selected in Richie Benaud's All Time Greatest Team. He joined Sir Donald Bradman, Dennis Lillee and Shane Warne who were also chosen in this illustrious team. Adam said that he was humbled to be chosen in the team in front of so many other outstanding players and by a person who himself is acknowledged as one of the finest to have played the game.

banglor beat chennai, big up set

Chasing Chennai’s 146 for five Bangalore reached 149 for four to secure victory with seven balls of their innings remaing.
Dravid and Pandey put on 72 runs off 58 balls for the third-wicket before Pandey was bowled by left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati, in the 13th over, for 48 runs off 35 balls with seven fours with Bangalore on 94 for three.
Pandey and Dravid produced a marvellous display of elegant stroke play with both batsmen happy to play some expansive drives but Bangalore found themselves in a spot of bother when Dravid was out leg-before to off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan for 44 off 39 balls with six fours.
Dravid’s departure left Bangalore on 110 for four in the 16th over still needing 37 runs off 29 balls for victory but Ross Taylor and Virat Kohli took 15 runs off the 17th over, bowled by off spinner Suresh Raina, to put Bangalore back into the driving seat.
Taylor (17 not out) and Kohli (24 not out) plundered 39 runs off just 16 balls for their unbroken fifth-wicket stand as they made sure that their team would be the one to meet the Deccan Chargers in the IPL final at the Wanderers on Sunday.
Bangalore had been in early trouble after they slipped to 22 for two with the South Africa pair of Jacques Kallis and Roelof van der Merwe back in the dug-out for single figures scores before Dravid and the 19-year-old Pandey launched their rescue effort.
Earlier, an opening stand of 61 runs between Parthiv Patel and Matthew Hayden helped the Chennai Super Kings to their final total.
However, Chennai would have been disappointed not to have capitalised on the fine start that their openers gave them as five batsmen reached double figures but no one scored more than Patel’s brisk 36 off 27 balls with seven fours.
Bangalore captain Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bowl but he was initially left rueing his decision as the left-handed Patel tore into Bangalore’s bowling.
Patel was particularly strong on the pull and he upstaged his experienced opening partner Hayden (26) as the pair put on 61 runs off 42 balls for the first wicket with the first-wicket fifty-run partnership coming up off 32 balls.
Hayden fell when he lifted a slower ball from seamer Vinay Kumar to Pandey at deep midwicket and Patel followed soon after, trapped lbw by Kallis, as Chennai slipped to 69 for two in the ninth over.
Matters did not improve for Chennai as Suresh Raina (20) got a leading edge to a delivery from medium-pacer Praveen Kumar with keeper Mark Boucher snaffling the catch.
MS Dhoni played a watchful innings of 28 runs off 30 balls before he holed out to Vinay Kumar at long-on off the bowling of left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe in the 18th over before Albie Morkel slammed the last ball of the innings for four to end unbeaten on 20 off 17 balls.
Vinay Kumar was the most successful bowler, with figures of two for 38, while Van der Merwe returned the economical figures of one for 23 off four overs.

Great Advice on Dating

Anyone who has had a nagging mother, an excessively effusive friend, or a smothering steady knows: advice really follows the rules of classical economics – the more that you receive, the less value that it has. Nonetheless, when relationships go foul, people almost instantly do everything but look into their own souls to figure out what the solution is to their problems. You can get advice on dating from almost anywhere. You probably have friends in your life who thinks they specialize in love and romance, sort of self-styled Casanovas who will be more than delighted to volunteer their advice on dating. Besides that, there are internet columns, magazine columns, radio shows, and television programs which emit tens of millions of words and make tens of millions of dollars giving relationship advice to strangers with no reason to trust them but desperation.

The fact is, if you need advice on dating, you had better have a trustworthy and down to earth friend to get it from. There is just no alternative to this. How can you weed through all of the sludge, all of the worthless advice on dating, to find the few nuggets of gold. And even if you do find them, what are the chances that they will apply to you if they were written for a stranger in the first place? But, if you do insist on getting advice on dating, be sure to follow some common sense. Do not trust the mainstream columns. They are popular because of their entertainment, not because of the value of their advice. If they offered the kind of nuanced advice on relationships that is really valuable, they would not have the sensationalist feel that really sells.
Good relationship advice does not come from mass media entertainers, but from qualified professionals. If you are looking for advice on dating, for God's sake, go to a qualified professional. A Psychologist, Psychiatrist, or Social Worker is trained to help people to sort out all of the aspects of their life, from childhood to grave. They are the only people who are trained to give you advice on dating that is really worth anything. However, just having a degree and some training does not guarantee that you can give dating advice that is worth anything. Above all, like everything else in this life, it comes down to simply learning to trust yourself and your own instincts.

buying behavior of clothing buyers

Research and development in apparel industry is ongoing process. Every now and then, we encounter new developments, innovations, improvements in existing processes, which are in terms of fabric, style, stitching details, patterns, prints and their designs, but cycle of fashion keeps on revolving and always repeats after certain period.
Fashion trends moves in the direction from west to east. Trends which are in the western countries (USA, UK, France and Italy), will be the future trends in east and other countries. In other terms, we can call them fashion trendsetters.
Trends are in terms of styling, detailing and patterns, which is the invention of their dexterous designers and trend readers. Innovations and research done in terms of fabric and accessories in China, India, and Hong Kong shall be the basis of styling and patterns of trendsetters. Eventually call them supporters/active participants of the trends.
Nevertheless, we can segregate the whole apparel and fashion world in three categories.
Fashion and trend-setter countries
Retailing, Marketing and merchandising specialist countries
Sourcing, Production and process oriented countries
1. Fashion and trendsetter countries are France, Italy, UK and USA. We find lots of excellent designers, designing institutes, fashion stores, boutiques, and renowned brands. Like- Chanel, Armani, Hugo Boss, GAP, A&F, Valentino etc.
2. Marketing and Merchandising specialist countries are USA, UK, Hong Kong & India. They have the best concepts of marketing, retailing and merchandising in their own areas. Due to presence of the best fashion merchandising schools, they have good command over their retailing and marketing skills, India and Hong Kong are the emerging markets nowadays in terms of their retailing plans and encouragement to satisfy the domestic demand. Like- Macys, Wal-Mart, Target, GAP, A&F, Nordstrom, Reebok, Nike, Sainsbury, Lifestyle, Wills lifestyle, Max. etc.
3. Sourcing, Production and process-oriented countries are China, India, Vietnam & Bangladesh. They are export & process oriented countries due to less expensive labor, cheap raw material and govt. encouragement to exports. They are the best in to their own areas of specialization. Like- LinFung, Must Garments, Lenny Fashions, GI, Orient Craft etc.
There are many other countries, which are the part of above-mentioned categories like Spain, Germany, Pakistan, Canada, Brazil, Thailand etc. Nevertheless, they cover only a small part of these categories.
However, buyers study the trends very carefully, understanding the concepts of behavior of consumers, their presence, their aesthetic sense etc. Generally, when we get into this concept, we find that North American buyers travel to European markets to grab the idea of fashion trends, stories, themes and color combinations. After studying the market, they apply the same to prepare their style packages, to get the prices and costing from vendors. It applies the same to European buyers; visit the America or Retail outlets of US based brands to sense the market trends.
Many Italian/US brands emphasis to colors and hand feels with their basic patterns. Brands like UCB, American eagle are the examples of these outfits. However, it is presumed thinking that, It is not the color, but also the hand feel, which sells the garment into the market. Colors are their to tempt the customers to pull them in the showroom, it is the hand feel and price, which ultimately satisfy their aesthetic desires and psychological needs.
Behavior is a quite personal term to be used, but their behavior always depends on the behavior of their customers and competitors. All buyer look for, all kind of resorts to launch their product first, with improved innovations in market, to fetch the sales profit. This is the nature of business, first come first profit. Who reaches the destination first, is the winner of the game?

Iverson Hurting, So Are the 76ers

Boom, 13 seconds later Ray Allen made a jump shot. Twenty seconds later he followed with a three-point basket after a 76er turnover.
With 2:10 left in the game, Allen Iverson, wobbling with pain in his hip and his butt, finally made a shot after missing 11 in a row. The triumph was clear on Iverson's face. The 76ers were within 10 points again, 66-56. Maybe, just maybe . . .
Boom, 14 seconds later Allen made another three-point basket. The First Union Center emptied faster than Dodger Stadium in the seventh inning. Allen gave a little nod to the empty seats as he sat down to savor his 38 points and the Bucks' 92-78 victory over Philadelphia in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.
The series is tied at a game apiece and moves to Milwaukee for Game 3 Saturday. Things are not well for the 76ers.
Coach Larry Brown, who brought the crowd to a frenzy when he was presented with a trophy honoring him as coach of the year before the game, solemnly assessed the health of Iverson, the player of the year.
"He's hurting bad," Brown said. "I'd like for him to stay home and miss the next game so he can get some rest. But I'll get overruled on that."
Maybe not.
Since scoring 52 points against the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 of the conference semifinals, Iverson has shot 29% from the field and made only 31 of 112 shots. Thursday night, he was five of 26 and missed all eight shots from three-point range. His 16 points were as many as he scored in the second quarter of the 76ers' victory on Tuesday.
"If [the injury] is not getting worse, I'll keep playing," Iverson said. "But now, when it's getting worse, I've got to think [about not playing]. This is my dream, the Eastern Conference finals. I've hurt a lot this season but I've never had to play this season with an injury like this. Last time I had this injury, I sat out five games."
Iverson has a deeply bruised hip and tailbone that has bothered him for weeks. It got worse in Game 7 Sunday against the Raptors when Iverson took a hard fall.
"He's standing like an old man," Allen said of Iverson. "He's holding his back when he's standing. He's holding his tailbone when he walks. There's a lot of guys throughout this whole league that, with injuries like this, sit down. I give Allen kudos for being able to do it."

Success: Winners and Losers

The 1986 New York Mets are one of the most legendary teams in Major League Baseball history. Heck, they won 108 of their 162 games, easily securing a place in the playoffs, and boasted five All-Stars plus a lineup powered by one big-name slugger after another. When they clinched the World Series with a now-legendary victory over the Boston Red Sox in the seventh and final game, many sportswriters couldn't resist relaying to their readers the cliched yet satisfying tale of a team destined to triumph: a team of winners.
If only it were so simple.
By most indicators, the Mets were, in fact, a team destined to fail. Their manager, former All-Star second baseman Davey Johnson, was a mediocre strategist who drank excessively and imposed minimal discipline. Their two brightest young stars, pitcher Dwight Gooden and right fielder Darryl Strawberry, were beginning to experiment with cocaine. Catcher Gary Carter was an annoying egomaniac who drove his teammates crazy; rookie Kevin Mitchell was a reformed San Diego gang-banger with a bullet lodged in his back and an alarmingly violent temper; third baseman Ray Knight was a 33-year-old has-been and his backup, Howard Johnson, had been dismissed by his former team, the Detroit Tigers, as a man who would crumble in the clutch. As for experience under pressure, they had next to none. A grand total of two Mets had played in a prior World Series.
"We had a lot of demons and issues to overcome," recalls Ed Hearn, the team's backup catcher. "But there was one thing we had that turned us into winners: one man who wouldn't let us lose, no matter what obstacles we faced.
"Thank God," says Hearn, "for Mex."
In Keith "Mex" Hernandez, the Mets had a leader who absolutely refused to bow down. A veteran first baseman who had won the 1982 World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals, Hernandez was the guy who paced the dugout while screaming at rival pitchers; it was Hernandez who advised Met relief pitchers about why the outside fastball would work better than the inside slider, and who set the ever-important (yet oft-absent) positive tone. Though Hernandez was a skilled player who would go on to win a National League-record 11 Gold Gloves, he was hardly the most talented man on the Mets' roster. Yet, as Hearn puts it, he possessed "that special something."
"Just something about Mex oozed confidence," says Hearn. "It was contagious. It made you need to win." Hence, when the Mets seized the championship from the Red Sox against all odds (New York was twice one strike away from losing), nobody within the clubhouse was especially surprised. "Hell," Hernandez said at the time, "we always expect to win. Always." And they did.

the sportsmanship

Emily was crying by the time the softball game ended. It wasn't because her team had lost. It wasn't because she was unhappy about her own playing. It wasn't even because of anything the other team had said or done. Emily's tears came after her dad yelled at her — in front of all her teammates — for missing the fly ball that could have saved the game. Emily is just 8 years old.
If your child has ever participated in a sport, you've undoubtedly met people like Emily's dad, parents who behave inappropriately and upset their kids. These parents get so wrapped up in winning and losing or how well their own kids perform that they lose sight of what's really important. They forget that one of the most important goals of kids' sports is to promote a sense of good sportsmanship.

Manish who? Manish Pandey. And that's centurion Manish Pandey to the likes of you and me. The 2009 DLF IPL hasn't been short on surprises, but Pandey's 114 not out in Centurion on Thursday took the cake.
AB de Villiers scored the first century in this year's tournament for the Delhi Daredevils against the Chennai Super Kings in Durban on April 23. Or, if you like, all the way back in match nine. We've had to wait almost a month and 47 more matches for another batsman to reach three figures.
Enter young Mr Pandey, who owns the top score in this year's IPL after his innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Deccan Chargers. Not only that, he is the first Indian to score a century in the admittedly short history of the IPL.
But who is he? Nantilal, the place where Pandey was born not quite 20 years ago, has to be one of the few words in any language that returns zero results when it is Googled. Not so Karnataka, the southern Indian state that Pandey made his first-class debut for last November. He was part of the Indian squad that won the 2008 under-19 World Cup, but he wasn't given many opportunities to shine because of the heavyweight batting line-up the Indians took into the tournament.
He played three matches for the Mumbai Indians in the inaugural IPL. He batted twice, and scored all three of his runs in one of those innings. This year, he added two runs to that tally in the couple of games he played before Thursday.
Then came the breakthrough - 114 not out off 73 balls with 10 fours and four sixes. And a huge favour from RP Singh. Pandey was two not out in the third over when he slashed at a delivery from Ryan Harris. The ball looped towards third man, where RP made a hash of what should have been a standard catch. Perhaps he was blinded by the brightness of his Purple Cap.
That wasn't Pandey's only close call on the night. His penchant for swinging lustily across the line didn't always serve him well, and his misses and miscues mounted. But so did his runs. The half-century arrived in the 11th over by way of a mighty heave over midwicket for six during Tirumalsetti Suman's only over. He repeated the shot, and the result, off the next ball.
Pandey reached his century in the 18th over, taking two to long-on off Andrew Symonds. His celebration was muted, perhaps because he knew his innings wasn't without its blemishes. Pandey faced a half dozen balls after that, smashing RP down the ground for six in the last over of the innings to leave the bowler with a painful reminder of his early error.
As an innings, it was no oil painting. Rather, it was a mad splash of colour slapped haphazardly across a canvas that kept changing shape. Which didn't detract at all from its entertainment value.
We also shouldn't lose sight of the fact that Pandey, at an age when most of us are wracked with worry about acne and examinations, walked out in front of thousands with little in his cricketing past to herald him and overcame an uncertain start to eventually raise his bat as a hero.

Global Warming

Newspaper articles about global warming tell the story of the Earth's climate and the diverse opinions and scientific discoveries surrounding the theory of global warming. From the Industrial Revolution to the Kyoto treaty and the advent of hybrid technology, the topic of global climate change has enthralled readers and sparked debate for centuries. Though many people argue over the theory's validity, global warming is a subject that affects us all and newspapers chronicle its discovery and the debate surrounding the issue. Since ancient times, people have believed that human activity could affect the environment. The discovery of past ice ages shows that Earth's climate is in constant flux and that throughout history, scientists have searched for the cause of these changes. Though scientists discovered the greenhouse effect in the late 19th century, the theory of global warming wasn't accepted as a scientifically proven fact until 1992 when the United Nations held a Conference on Environment and Development. Today, global warming is a widely accepted reality and speculation about its effects range from the hysteria to the acceptance. Newspapers chronicle the slowly changing climate and the actions that have affected that change. The Global Warming Archive provides access to thousands of articles on the environment and the scientists who documented its change. From developing nations to industrial countries, global climate affects everyone and newspaper articles tell the story of nature's dramatic impact on history. NewspaperARCHIV, the largest newspaper database available online, has provided a free archive on the history of global warming granting access to thousands of original newspaper articles. The archive includes articles on the early discoveries of scientists, the development of technology,, the greenhouse effect and global summits and treaties dedicated to the topic of global warming. computer protection

Unfortunately, there are dangers on the Internet. Like all activity involving large numbers of people, there are crooks and charlatans, thugs and sociopaths among the participants. Out of the hundreds of millions involved, some are bound to be not very nice people engaged in not so honorable pursuits. Also the software companies have tended to neglect security measures for the sake of convenience and ease of use. A locked door is not as easy to use as an open one. The bad news is that unscrupulous and just plain malicious types are taking advantage of unwary PC users. The good news is that common sense and some precautionary steps will suffice to protect most home computer users.

google adsense

Google's AdSense is perhaps the fastest and easiest way to generate revenue from a website that contains great content.
If you'd like to see an example of Google AdSense in action, visit this page about what is the best day to purchase cars. On the left side of the page, you'll see "Ads by Google" followed by one to five text-based ads. The ads themselves are called "Google AdWords," and the program that lets publishers display them on their site is called "Google AdSense."
Here is how Google answers the question -- what is AdSense -- in its FAQ (frequently asked questions):

it's all about fun

Every now and then a quarrel breaks out down at the barber shop, lines are drawn, challenges leveled and, with any luck, somebody walks out with very few blood stains. All over a seemingly innocent discussion: What is the greatest sport on earth?
Some say "football". Some say "baseball". Canadians say "hockey". The rest of the world says "soccer". (Actually, they say "football", too...but they mean "soccer".)
I say: "kissing". Yes, kissing is the greatest sport on earth. Allow me to explain just a few of the reasons.

terrorism

Few international incidents end with the successful finality and clarity as did the rescue of the Maerske ship Captain, Richard Phillips, from the clutches of Somali pirates in mid April. Three clean kill shots by U.S.Navy snipers settled the stand-off. Most people in the Western world felt relieved and good about the outcome. Maybe assassination was warranted. Clearly, piracy cannot be tolerated. However, the pursuit of both negotiation and assassination strategies at the same time is troublesome and may be costly in the longer term. If negotiation appears to be merely a pretext for snipers' to act, then will the trust essential for successful negotiations be lost in future negotiations?

hot sport t20 ipl

Now, let me clear up right from the onset that I am not a betting man and really do not have the gall to be one. I was asked before the start of the IPL who it was I thought would be the team to win it and my choice was the Chennai Super Kings.
I however did not want to put my eggs in one basket and so mentioned another side and they are the Mumbai Indians.
As the tournaments stands at present, I would not be surprised if you were reading this and thought I was very far off the mark. Well, let me say that I am hoping that the Chennai Super Kings can peak at the right time which is the back end or business end of the tournament. If they do that then they can sneak into the semis and then continue that momentum through the two big games.
It doesn’t matter how you qualify, just to make sure that you do is what counts.
How and why did I come to pick these two teams then? All I was looking for really was a team of players that were really good with bat and ball but also one that had all bases covered. So, good batsmen, good seamers, good spinners and also good fielders. Something else that needed to be considered was the availability of the overseas players in each squad.
Chennai just looked very good with Matt Hayden, Andrew Flintoff, Jacob Oram, Albie Morkel, Makhaya Ntini and Muttiah Muralitharan. These are players who potentially would make the first XI but of course there can only be four in the team. That sure makes it harder and means the pressure on the four chosen ones is that much higher.
‘Prove your worth’ is a phrase that may not be said but is in the minds of all these expensive professionals. You sure want to take your chance and make full use of it when it comes about as no overseas player is guaranteed a place in the XI.
Chennai have just not clicked at all and their main players have not been in the greatest form with bat or ball except Matthew Hayden. They have left themselves a lot to do but I think they have the resources to do it so I shall keep watching them….can’t write them off yet.
Mumbai on the other hand have started wonderfully. They will not be happy that they had a game rained out and may also argue that the game that followed the rained out one, they lost because they had had a rather long break due to the rain.
Apart from that little hiccup, they have been very good to watch. Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya have provided brilliant entertainment in the batting and Lasith Malinga has been at his slingy best with the ball. Some good help too from Harbhajan Singh and Dwayne Bravo.
Am I sticking with my first choice picks you might ask….the answer is a big yes. I think that these two teams will be in the final on the 24th of May at the Bullring. Hey, I have been wrong before and I am pretty sure that I will be wrong again many times…..that is the beauty of it. You pick your teams and see how they go.
As a spectacle, the IPL has thrown up some good games but it has been most impressive how the South African public have lapped it up and come out to support the different sides. The atmosphere in Cape Town on the first day was not particularly buzzing as I think that the spectators were trying to make sense of who was playing for which team. Now that they know where their respective stars are playing, fans are in full support.
Durban has been pretty good and it was lovely watching and listening to the Port Elizabeth crowd singing along to the band playing. As we get deeper and deeper into the tournament, things will continue to heat up and the competition will get even fiercer as a win matters more and more for each team.
Turn up to the games if you can because you’ll love it but also because we have a chance in a million to watch some of the greats exhibit their skills on the same sides. Also, ask yourself; when will the IPL be back here again? Maybe never….

about ipl hot season

This is where the hard yards for the IPL begin. As I write, the second edition has just passed the half way mark. Although it has been an event that has been thoroughly enjoyable, give or take the odd display of excess, it really has been a win-win situation for all those involved and that must be welcomed.
However, I think we all realise that the novelty has started to wear off. At this stage of the inaugural tournament the pure passion and adulation for the game in India carried the IPL right through to the duration. This time around, with two weeks still to go, exhibitions of individual excellence will be relied upon to get us home.
The likes of Kevin Pietersen, Chris Gayle, Fidel Edwards and Andrew Flintoff (injured) have departed for international duties, one or two have arrived to display their talent after recently representing their country, and some have been prohibited from turning up due to a necessary rest deemed by their home cricket boards. The end result is that those various actions have succeeded in diluting some prime talent and new faces who up until now have been cooling their heels on the sidelines will be introduced.
It is commonly thought that in a normal environment, 59 games over five weeks is far too much cricket. Remember this is the Indian Premier League and when exhibited at home they simply can’t get enough and the fanatical crowd support is a crucial attribute. Now that this season has been transported to South Africa it will be natural that enthusiasm for the product will wane somewhat over the next couple of weeks.
There will be some jostling for positions on the points table as we reach the conclusive and prize winning stage, so all games will be critical for the teams but it may not play out that way regarding the atmosphere at the grounds. There is no doubt that the excitement and anticipation will be rejuvenated come semifinals time, but expect a mini lull in the short term.
One aspect that will be fascinating to watch from this moment on will be the captains and how they adapt to the various upcoming scenarios. This format is enormously demanding for them and only the very committed will survive and lead their teams successfully towards the business end. Already they will be closely studying the net run rate situation as that may well decide the finalists.
In my view three captains have stood out and it is no surprise that their teams are all well placed at this stage. Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist and Mahendra Singh Dhoni have been the standout skippers and their actions and interpretations of proceedings will provide a fascinating sideshow to the bigger picture over the next fortnight.
Two of those captains mentioned have a distinct advantage. Warne and Dhoni have an immediate support base that they can call on at any stage on-field during play and that is a huge bonus considering the frenetic nature of this game. T
he captains can’t be expected to be on top of everything by themselves and the advantages of an enormously competent, experienced right hand man is immeasurable.
The qualified Graeme Smith is providing outstanding sound advice for Warne, and Matthew Hayden is doing similar for Dhoni. They have obviously been empowered by their respective leaders and are revelling in the opportunity to provide additional guidance, support and strategy. That then leaves Gilchrist as a bit of a lone ranger as he really has limited options to turn to and therefore carries the obvious extra burden.
This alone could well be the difference come trophy time.

Australian cricket great I. Chappell has bombarded the right hand batsman by saying ‘Sachin is interested only in ads and not cricket’. Much earlier to this, Indian former coach Greg Chappell has stepped down from coach post, after he was blamed by Tendulkar.
Now, please let us know for what Tendulkar is playing (if at all he is playing).
